quiet walk & write

at Catalina State Park

Friday, May 29th  |  7:30-11am

This walk includes a slow, quiet meander near the Alamo Canyon Loop Trail/Sutherland Wash at Catalina State Park. We’ll follow our noses, listen to our heartbeats, and tune into the natural magic around us. After, we'll meet in a peaceful area for a meditation, plus writing and sharing to nature-inspired prompts.

Invitations as we walk
We'll be enjoying a silent, meditative walk (vs. a power hike with a pace or mileage goal). Our main aim: to let ourselves be part of this place. As a loosely-linked group, we’ll intentionally slow down and spread out. We’ll tune into our footsteps, heartbeats, and whatever calls to us. We’ll use our five senses. If we see a thing we want to touch, or catch a scent, or just want to close our eyes and stop, great! Pauses are welcome. We’re invited to experience this wild zone--and the wildness within us-- in our own unique ways.

About the writing time
This will be a friendly, non-critical writing space. Though I'll offer various prompts, we can write about our experiences in any way we like. There's no need to edit or try to write well. If desired, writers may explain a note or two about their writing experience, or read their words aloud. Hearing others' stories can be connective, but reading aloud is always optional.
